Sound is into the future even and today. Made in 1990 but this man find the base over the natural human senses.
Anarius
How seriously awesome did this sound in 1990? Really cool one of the first imports I brought.

NYC 92-98 this track was killing every dance floor at 4am ...parties were off the chain!!!I need this record
Dordred
Nice remake of such a classic, ups the pace & a few more elements added for good measure.A really nice version of this classic & a big tune when released.

707????Sounds exactly like a 909 to me.Where did you get 707 from?
Shaktit
Reissue of this seminal ground breaking Techno track, always worth grabbing a clean copy of this track.
Mejora
you get more tracks on the r+s copy but the art work on the transmat is so dark and cool.........
Der Bat
Greatest Techno track ever!
ChallengeMine
This is the version I always play as my sets are at the harder end, and at about 140. (which the original will not pitch to)A great remix, not too much changed except it just drives more and the turnarounds in the main hook are excellent.

I have been told that the Casio FZ-1 was used on this track. I was told it is what he warped the bassline with. I could be wrong though because info is mostly fallible.

biggest mystery ever, i doubt even if Joey knows it where the sound is made with and how. it's one of those sounds that would have been re used over and over if people knew how. aliens might be involved. we should ask him how it's made ;p such sound shouldn't be limited to 1 track.

A classic techno record. Minimal but incredibly dark and eerie. Sounded a little ahead of it's time. I still like this record to this day...

To Joey Beltram he was creating a darker, edgier form of House when he crafted Energy Flash, which ultimately split the electronic community's idea of House, creating a new musical discourse that paved a path all the way to the shores of Europe, pioneering a new movement in "Techno." Fantastic track and a must for any collector.

an excellent re-edit of this classic track, actually prefer this to the original.
Tygolar
Even non-electronic listeners can appreciate a track like this.

@Scott_Forbes this track used the TR-707, not the 909. Anyway, was wondering if anyone out there knows what synths he used for this track. Particularly the deep bass synth droning low in the mix and the main lead synth. The strings sound is very Juno and I'm sure there is a Korg Choir in there too. Any idea where the ecstacy sample came from ? and the decending string sample? you know the same sample from Orbitals Chime.
Jwalextell
Wow, I didnt know the strings came from Orbital, very nice find. In return I have the XTC sample for you: https://www.discogs.com/101-Rock-To-The-Beat/master/15514

I'm afraid, can't help with the synth info. But the 'ecstasy' sample came from 101 - Rock To The Beat, which is a cover version of Kevin Saunderson's Detroit techno classic under the same name. Where they sampled it from, someone else might be able to help there.

Graffiti On Mars REMIX OF THIS CULT RAVE CLASSIC . i produced this version as artist Graffiti On Mars , added a few more samples which i credited on label copy , wrote new parts including bassline and drums and ended up with this which in its own right is a bit of a cult classic itself!! i pressed and distributed the track myself just a small run to indy uk shops . played by sasha and pole position in buzz chart . and featured on tongys bbc r1 show . it was subsequently licensed itself for a reissue series so became kind of semi official release . r&s belgium and r&s uk wanted to release it offically at the time , but joey wouldnt let it happen as it would deflect attention away from his own new product at that time . i countered it would be a profile raiser for new stuff but it still didnt happen initially until reissue !you can listen here : soundcloud.com/robj4y/joey-beltram-energy-flash

This might be the best ever version of the Energy Flash... It has a more punchy kick in it and the unecspected bounces of the melody really adds more drive to this version...And just as posted above, i would also like to know who created this masterpiece!

Beltram is a keen graffiti artist also. It is his vision of doing it on Mars too I guess.
